How long does dipping powder last?

Dip powder can stay on natural nails for up to 2-4 weeks, depending on how quickly the nail grows out.

How to apply dip powder?

Dip Powder can be applied to natural nails or nails with tips.

The process involves applying a base bonding solution to properly groomed nails.

Each finger is then dipped into clear nail powder, and then the bonding resin and powder process is repeated, but with colour added if desired.

In the final steps, the technician can begin to shape the nails to the client's desired shape. Shaping is done near the end because it allows the dip powder to harden and easy to work with

Up to five coats can be applied before the curing and finishing steps are done, depending on whether or not there are tips used or the natural nail is used for treatment. A sealer is brushed on, and the nails sealed, buffed and even given another coat of sealer if the manufacturer allows.

How to remove dip powder?

To remove dip powder, it is possible to have them soak off. Having them soak off will help you protect your nail bed from excessive grinding from the tools.

The materials used to remove dip powder:

  1. Cotton Balls

  2. Aluminum foil

  3. Acetone

  4. Nail File & Buffer

  5. Nail drill

Having the nail soaked off this way makes it less damaging to the nail bed.

Results from using dip powder

Our clients from Ottawa and nearby cities have experienced and seen the results of stronger and natural nails after using the dip powder application. Some clients have started off using nail extensions with Dip Powder, and as their natural nails have grown and become stronger, they have the strength and length in their natural nails to continue using dip powder without nail extensions.

Allergic to gel and acrylics?

Dip powder is an excellent alternative for those who are allergic to various ingredients in gel and acrylic nails. Dip powders do not use ingredients found in gel and acrylic that are known to result in allergic reactions.

What kind of designs are possible?

Dip Powder nails are very versatile, and we can create many different kinds of designs, just like acrylic and gel nails. One of the most popular methods for dip powder is Ombre at both of our salon in Orleans. Ombre nails feature two colours smoothly graduating into each other. It's a popular look that is particularly striking when done with a dark and light colour coming together.
